Properties of Super Duplex S32750

Super Duplex 2507 Cold Forming

Super Duplex 2507 can be readily formed with the most of the common cold-forming methods. When forming requires more than 10% cold deformation, a solution anneal and quench are recommended.

Super Duplex 2507 Hot Forming

Super Duplex 2507 should be hot worked between 1875°F and 2250°F. This should be followed by a solution anneal at 1925°F minimum and a rapid air or water quench.

Super Duplex 2507 Machining

Super Duplex 2507 in the annealed condition is readily machinable by all conventional methods.

Super Duplex 2507 Pipe Welding

Super Duplex 2507 is readily weldable using many of the standard electric arc welding processes but oxyacetylene welding is not recommended because carbon pickup in the weld metal may occur.

Super Duplex 2507 Heat Treatment

Super Duplex 2507 should be solution annealed and quenched after either hot or cold forming. Solution annealing should be done at a minimum of 1925°F. Annealing should be followed immediately by a rapid air or water quench. To obtain maximum corrosion resistance, heat treated products should be pickled and rinsed.
