Alloy 20 Cold Forming

Alloy 20 can be readily hot-formed to practically any shape. The recommended temperature range for hot forming is 1200° to 2250°F (650° to 1230°C).

Alloy 20 can be worked by all conventional cold-forming methods. Severe work can be done manually only with the assistance of frequent anneals to restore softness.

Alloy 20 can be machined satisfactorily at commercial rates provided proper machining practices are carefully followed.
