Welded Pipes are of two types ERW and EFW. A process for producing welded pipe is Electric Resistance Welding (ERW) also known as Contact Welding. Processing of Electric Fusion Welding, also called Continuous Welding begins as coiled steel with appropriate thickness, width and weight is made. ASTM B705 UNS N06625 are available in a wide range of sizes and properties. Due to the weld seam, lower operating pressures are stated in accordance with ASME compared to seamless pipes. In general Inconel welded pipe possess tighter dimensional tolerances than seamless pipes and are less costly if produced in same quantities. Inconel Welded Pipe sizes range from 1/8" to 48" inches and the thickness of the pipes are as follows: Sch 5, Sch 5s, Sch 10, Sch 10s, Sch 20, Sch 30, Sch 40s, Sch 40, Sch STD, Sch 60, Sch 80s, Sch 100, Sch 120, Sch XS, Sch XXS, Sch 160. Properties of Inconel 625 alloy

Inconel 625 Cold Forming

Inconel 625 can be cold formed by standard methods. When the material becomes too stiff from cold working, ductility can be restored by process anneal.

Inconel 625 Hot Forming

Hot working may done at 2100°F (1149°C) maximum furnace temperature. Care should be exercised to avoid frictional heat build-up which can result in overheating, exceeding 2100°F (1149°C). Inconel 625 becomes very stiff at temperatures below 1850°F (1010°C). Work pieces that fall below this temperature should be reheated. Uniform reductions are recommended to avoid the formation of a duplex grain structure. Approximately 15/20% reduction is recommended for finishing.

Inconel 625 Machining

Inconel 625 should preferably be machined in the annealed condition. Since Inconel Alloy 625 is prone to work hardening, only low cutting speeds should be used and the cutting tool should be engaged at all times. Adequate cut depth is necessary to assure avoiding contact with the previously formed work-hardened zone.

Inconel 625 Welding

Inconel 625 can be readily welded by conventional processes used for austenitic stainless steel, including fusion and resistance methods. The material should be in the mill annealed condition and thoroughly descaled and cleaned before welding. Preheating is not required and post-weld treatment is not needed to maintain or restore corrosion resistance.

Inconel 625 Heat Treatment

Hot- or cold-formed parts are usually annealed at 1700°-1900°F for times commensurate with thickness; higher temperatures may be used to soften material for additional cold work. Inconel alloy 625 is solution-treated at 2000°-2200°F. These temperatures are metal temperatures based on batch operations and may not apply to continuous annealing, which normally consists of short exposure in the hot zone of a furnace set at higher temperatures. The rate of cooling after heating has no significant effect on Inconel alloy 625.

PMI Testing, Ultrasonic Test, Mechanical Testing, Spectro Tests for Chemical Analysis of the grade, Flaring Test, IGC, etc. are some of the tests conducted at our facility. We welcome stage wise inspection from any of your representative or third party inspection agencies.

Packing and Delivery
